Write to us at either address with any question about this notice. How to use your rights is described below.

In short

  • On every visit, the site is delivered and protected by Cloudflare, which processes information about your requests, including your IP address, and gives us statistics about these requests. Unless you choose “Allow”, our pages set no cookies and load nothing from other websites.
  • Only if you choose “Allow” are Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics started, to count visits and see which pages are read.
  • The site shows no advertising and has no user accounts, comments or forms.

Every request for a page of this site passes through Cloudflare, which delivers the site, keeps copies of its pages in its cache and filters traffic to protect the site against attacks and misuse. To do this, Cloudflare processes information about each request; Cloudflare lists IP addresses and traffic routing data among this information. The site cannot be delivered to you without this information about your requests. Pages that are not in Cloudflare’s cache are fetched from the server where the site is hosted, at Hostinger.

Cloudflare also gives us statistics about these requests, for example how many requests and page views there were, which addresses were requested and which of them returned errors, and which browsers or search engine crawlers made the requests. We use them to run the site, for example to find addresses that no longer work.

Cloudflare also sends your browser Network Error Logging (NEL) instructions, valid for 7 days, asking it to report connections to this site that fail to Cloudflare at a.nel.cloudflare.com; successful connections are not reported. Such a report contains technical details of the failed request, such as the page address, the page you came from, the type of error and the time taken. Cloudflare states that it derives the network, country and metro area from the IP address in a report, that it does not store personal or user-specific data, and that it keeps the IP address only while the report is being processed. This, too, serves the delivery and security of the site.

Unless you choose “Allow” in the banner, our pages set no cookies and load nothing from other websites. Fonts and images are served from this site itself, and there are no embedded videos, maps, social media buttons, advertisements or forms.

Your choice in the banner

The banner offers “Decline” and “Allow”. Your answer is kept in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie, under the name tbw-consent. It holds three things: the version of the banner (currently 2), your answer (granted or denied) and the time you gave it. It is kept only in your browser.

The answer is valid for 395 days (about 13 months). After that, the banner asks you again. An answer given to an earlier version of the banner is not used, and the banner asks again.

We store this record so that the site can respect your answer. It is written when you click “Decline” or “Allow”.

If you choose “Allow”, and only then, two tools are started on this site to count visits and see which pages are read: Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics. If you choose “Decline” or make no choice, neither tool is loaded and nothing is sent to Google. If JavaScript is switched off in your browser, the banner does not appear and neither tool is loaded.

You do not have to allow this. Everything on the site works the same whichever answer you give. We do not use the data for advertising.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-X8VZYGZZLF) is a service of Google. It uses two cookies, which Google describes as first-party cookies, stored under this site’s domain:

Cookie Purpose, in Google’s words Lifetime on this site
_ga Used to distinguish users. at most 395 days after your latest visit
_ga_X8VZYGZZLF Used to persist session state. at most 395 days after your latest visit

Google’s default lifetime for these cookies is 2 years; this site sets 395 days instead. Google renews the expiry date on each page load, so the 395 days count from your most recent page view. Browsers can delete them sooner: Google notes that Safari limits such cookies to 7 days if you do not return.

Google lists the personal data involved in Google Analytics as online identifiers, including cookie identifiers, IP addresses and device identifiers, and client identifiers. Google states that, when collecting data, Google Analytics “does not log or store IP addresses”. For visitors in the EU, Switzerland and the UK, Google states that the IP address is used only to derive an approximate location, such as the country and city, that this lookup is performed on servers in the EU, Switzerland or the UK, and that the address is then immediately discarded.

Google Signals is switched off in this site’s Google Analytics tag; according to Google, this disables advertising features based on third-party advertising identifiers. The tag’s three advertising consent settings (ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization) are always set to “denied”.

Google explains what it does with information from sites that use its services here: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics is a service of Cloudflare. Once you have allowed it, a script from Cloudflare (static.cloudflareinsights.com) sends Cloudflare a report on each page load. From these reports Cloudflare shows us the page address, the external page that linked to it, the browser, the operating system, the device type (desktop, mobile or tablet), the country, and measurements of how quickly the page loaded. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage, and that it does not log query strings (the part of a web address after a question mark).

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), applies to our processing of your data:

  • Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics: your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. In addition, under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), as applied in national law (in Germany, § 25 TDDDG), storing information on your device, or gaining access to information already stored there, requires your consent unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested.
  • Delivery and protection of the site by Cloudflare, statistics about requests, and hosting at Hostinger: our legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our interest is to deliver the site to you quickly and reliably, to protect it against attacks and misuse, and to run it, for example to find addresses that no longer work.
  • E-mail you send us: our legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our interest is to read, answer and act on messages sent to us.

Under Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK):

  • Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics: your explicit consent (açık rıza), Article 5(1) KVKK.
  • Delivery, protection and hosting of the site, statistics about requests, and e-mail you send us: Article 5(2)(f) KVKK, processing that is necessary for our legitimate interests, provided that it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms. The interests are the ones stated above.

We collect the data described here by automated means (your browser’s requests to the site, and, with your consent, cookies and scripts), and, by partly automated means, through the e-mails you send us.

Your right to object

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right under Article 21(1) GDPR to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then stop, unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Who receives the data

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): delivers and protects the site on every visit, gives us statistics about requests, and runs Cloudflare Web Analytics if you allow it. Cloudflare states that it is a data controller for the personal information it collects, including information about visitors to its customers’ websites, with some exceptions: it is a data processor of the visitor data it makes available to its customers, which it calls Customer Logs, and of content that passes through or is stored on its network. Where it is a data processor, Cloudflare says it processes data on its customers’ behalf and on their instructions.
  • Google: receives the Google Analytics data described above, only if you allow it.
  • Hostinger: hosts the site’s files and our e-mail mailbox, and processes data on our behalf as our data processor.

Transfers abroad

All three providers are outside Türkiye, so using them transfers your data abroad:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States. Cloudflare states that it processes the log data it keeps about visitors to its customers’ sites on their behalf in its data centres in the United States and Europe.
  • Google Analytics data is processed by Google, which states that for its advertising and analytics products it transfers personal information from the European Economic Area to the United States.
  • Hostinger stores the site’s files on a server in North Carolina, United States, and keeps their backups in Boston, United States (server details of our hosting account, as of 6 October 2026). Hostinger states that some of its servers are located outside the EU and the European Economic Area.

Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc. are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The European Commission’s adequacy decision for the United States covers organisations that participate in it.

How long data is kept

  • Your choice in the banner: valid for 395 days in your browser, then the banner asks again.
  • Google Analytics cookies: at most 395 days after your latest visit.
  • Google Analytics data: Google Analytics keeps user-level and event-level data for 2 months, the retention period set in our Google Analytics account. Google’s standard aggregated reports are not affected by this setting.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics data: Cloudflare keeps the complete data for 7 days; after that it is reduced to around 10 per cent. We can see the data for the previous 6 months.
  • Cloudflare request data: Cloudflare states that it processes this log data for a limited period of time. Cloudflare’s data processing addendum for its customers sets the duration of processing as until the main agreement with the customer ends or the processing is no longer necessary, whichever is earlier.
  • E-mails: deleted 12 months after the correspondence is closed.

You can change your answer at any time with the “Cookie settings” button at the foot of every page. Choosing “Decline” after “Allow” deletes the Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page; the reloaded page, and every page after it, loads neither Google Analytics nor Cloudflare Web Analytics. When you withdraw, other tabs of this site open in the same browser stop measuring too. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it, and data already sent to Google or Cloudflare is kept for the periods given above.

If you write to us

If you e-mail editor@truckbusworld.com, we receive your e-mail address, your name if your e-mail shows it, the content of your message and any attachments, and the technical details that travel with an e-mail, such as the date and time it was sent. We use them to read, answer and act on your message, for example to check a correction. The mailbox is hosted by Hostinger. Writing to us is voluntary; if you do, we need your e-mail address to reply.

Your rights

Where the GDPR applies, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you (Article 15);
  • have inaccurate data corrected (Article 16);

  • data portability, where the conditions of Article 20 are met;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21, see above);

  • not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling (Article 22). We make no such decisions.

We answer within one month of receiving your request; this can be extended by two further months where necessary, in which case we tell you within the first month. Answers are free of charge as a rule. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement (Article 77).   • request information about it if it is;
  • learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose;
  • know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred;
  • request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate;
  • request its erasure or destruction under the conditions of Article 7 of KVKK;
  • request that the third parties it was transferred to are notified of a correction, erasure or destruction;
  • object to an outcome against you that arises from analysis of the data exclusively by automated systems;
  • claim compensation if you suffer damage because of unlawful processing.

Applications under KVKK must be made in Turkish, in writing to our postal address above or by one of the other methods listed in Article 5 of the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller (for example with a secure electronic signature or a mobile signature), and must contain the information listed there. We conclude an application as soon as possible, depending on the nature of the request, and within 30 days at the latest, free of charge; if the action involves an additional cost, the fee in the tariff set by the Personal Data Protection Board may be charged. If your application is rejected, you find our answer insufficient, or we do not answer in time, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Board (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurulu) within 30 days of learning our answer, and in any case within 60 days of your application. A complaint can only be made after applying to us first.
