Technical reference
Editorial policy
The rules we work to
Stated here so a reader can hold us to them.
1. Every figure carries a source
No technical value is published without a manufacturer source behind it, and every page lists its sources in full. This is enforced by the publishing system itself: a page with no sources will not build.
2. Unconfirmed is left blank
A figure that a second source cannot confirm is omitted, not estimated. Blank rows on this site are deliberate. Where a manufacturer’s own figures conflict, we say so on the page instead of picking one.
3. Data is not translated
Specifications are held once per model and rendered into every language from that one record. Labels and prose are translated; numbers are not re-entered, so they cannot drift between language versions.
4. Photographs are verified by eye
Cover images are freely licensed and credited with photographer and licence. Each is checked against the subject before publication, because a filename is not evidence of what a photograph shows.
5. Commercial interests are disclosed
This site shares an owner with a spare parts manufacturer. That is stated on the about page, links into that company’s catalogue are marked as sponsored, and it does not affect where technical data comes from.
6. Corrections are made and shown
When we get something wrong we change it and record that we did. Send a correction with the source that contradicts us.
