The Sinotruk MC13 is a six-cylinder diesel engine family of SINOTRUK (China National Heavy Duty Truck Group). Sinotruk’s engine page says that the MC13 series uses the “same product technology, production process, Manufacturing equipment, quality standards and release process” as the German MAN D26 series engine. The page lists eighteen versions, rated from 140 kW to 404 kW. On this site the MC13 is an engine of the SITRAK C7H and SITRAK C9H trucks, whose records give it 12.419 litres; the C7H record also lists a gas version, the MT13.

Status as of 26 October 2026. Read that day: the MC13 page on the website of Sinotruk Hangzhou Engine Co., Ltd., in its English and in its Chinese version (both undated), and Sinotruk’s English product page for the SITRAK C7H 6x4 tractor, whose time of issue is given as 11 April 2020. All three are the maker’s own documents. The table of trucks at the end of this page is built from this site’s model records, not from these three documents.

Maker, name and layout

The English page is headed “MC13 Diesel Engine” and calls the engine “SINOTRUK MC13 series engine”; the Chinese page is headed MC13柴油发动机 and speaks of the 中国重汽MC13. Both pages sit on the website of Sinotruk Hangzhou Engine Co., Ltd., which the Chinese footer names 中国重汽集团杭州发动机有限公司. Neither page says where the MC13 is built.

The Chinese version states the MAN link in the same terms as the English one: the MC13 fully adopts the product technology, production process, manufacturing equipment, quality standards and release process of the D26 series engines of the German company MAN.

The technical table gives six cylinders for every version. The Chinese version gives the bore and stroke as 126 × 166 mm in every row. The English version prints the stroke as 166 mm in its first row, 167 mm in its second and one millimetre more in each row after that, up to 183 mm in the last; the Chinese version does not show this. Neither version prints a displacement. This site’s model records give 12.419 litres for the MC13 diesel versions and 12.42 litres for the MT13 gas version, from the sources of those model pages.

The page lists these design features:

  • a cylinder block of vermicular cast iron, of what the Chinese version calls a 龙门式 (gantry-type) structure;
  • an integral cylinder head;
  • an overhead camshaft;
  • coolant passages and lubricating-oil passages that are separate for the cylinder block and the cylinder head;
  • a timing gear chamber at the rear of the engine;
  • a modular design.

For every version the table gives the same outer dimensions, 1,776 × 900 × 1,296 mm (length, width and height in the Chinese version), the same weight, 1,280 kg, and the same minimum fuel consumption, 185 g/kWh.

Generations and dates

None of the three Sinotruk documents gives a launch date for the MC13 or divides it into generations. Sinotruk’s 2020 page for the SITRAK C7H 6x4 tractor says that SINOTRUK “ratified strategic cooperative agreement with German MAN” and introduced technology for its “cab, chassis, axle and engine etc.”, and that “In 2011, SINOTRUK launched SITRAK”. It gives no year for the agreement. Its engine section describes the MC11, not the MC13.

The engine page names its versions with codes such as MC13.55C01 and MC13.40C02. This site’s truck records use other codes: MC13.48-50 and MC13.54-50 for the SITRAK C7H and MC13.54-50A for the SITRAK C9H. The truck codes do not appear in the engine page’s table, the A suffix appears only in the C9H record, and none of the documents read explains the letters and numbers of either kind of code.

Ratings as Sinotruk lists them

The engine page gives two power figures for each version: a rated power with its engine speed and an overload power with its engine speed. It does not define the overload power, and it gives no torque figures. For how rated power and rated speed are read on a spec sheet, see kW, hp and Nm: how to read a truck’s power figures.

Sinotruk MC13 versions as the MC13 page of Sinotruk Hangzhou Engine lists them, read on 26 October 2026.

Four power steps appear twice, as a C01 version at 1,800 rpm and a C02 version at 1,500 rpm: 294, 258, 220 and 140 kW. The other versions carry only a C01 code. The overload speed is 1,957 rpm where the rated speed is 1,900 rpm, 1,858 rpm where it is 1,800 rpm and 1,545 rpm where it is 1,500 rpm. The page does not say which of these versions are fitted to trucks.

Fuels and emission class

The engine page names the MC13 a diesel engine. A gas version, the MT13, appears on this site only in the SITRAK C7H record, as MT13.46-51 with 338 kW and 2,250 Nm; none of the three Sinotruk documents read for this page mentions the MT13, and none of them says which gas it uses. None of them mentions HVO or other paraffinic diesel fuels either.

The only emission statement on the MC13 page is a sentence that begins with the MC11, not the MC13: it says that these engines are produced in step with MAN’s original engines and meet China’s on-road National VI standard, given in brackets as Euro VI (see Euro VI and Euro 7 for trucks), and the non-road National IV standard. The Chinese version has the same sentence, also beginning with MC11. The page gives no separate emission class for the MC13.

Sinotruk’s 2020 page for the SITRAK C7H 6x4 tractor lists, under “Engine”, an emission standard of “Euro III-Euro V” and a power of “310-540Hp”. It does not say which engine families these figures cover.

Trucks and buses on this site with the Sinotruk MC13 (and MT13 gas)

Two model pages on this site list the engine, both of them SITRAK trucks; no bus on this site records it. The figures below are those of each model’s own page and of the source that page cites, as each page records the engine, in kilowatts and newton-metres; they are not the engine page’s table above.
