The Cursor 11 is an 11.1-litre, six-cylinder in-line diesel engine built by FPT Industrial, which signs its pages as “a brand of Iveco Group”. FPT’s On-Road Engines & Drivelines brochure, with product information as of 31 May 2026, lists it among its truck engines in three ratings, 309, 338 and 353 kW (420, 460 and 480 hp), all at the Euro VI E emission standard. FPT’s release of 30 June 2021 and Iveco Australia’s 2023 release name it as one of the engines of the IVECO S-WAY, and on this site it is the engine of the BMC Tuğra tractor.

Status as of 26 October 2026. FPT Industrial’s Cursor 11 truck page, its On-Road Engines & Drivelines brochure (product information as of 31 May 2026) and its 2024 bus leaflet were read on 26 October 2026, together with FPT’s release of 30 June 2021 and Iveco Australia’s 2023 release on the S-Way.

What the engine is

FPT’s brochure lists the Cursor 11 as one of the engine models of its Cursor series, in the form “CURSOR 11 (6 cyl., 11.1 L)”. FPT writes the name CURSOR 11 on its product page and in its datasheet; Iveco Australia’s release writes “11.1l Cursor 11”, and the BMC record on this site calls it the FPT Cursor 11 ENT VI. FPT’s Cursor 11 truck page describes the Cursor series as engines for “long-distance and heavy-duty trucks” over 16 tons of Gross Vehicle Weight. For the Cursor 11 it names an “SCR-only ATS solution” and a “Cursor EGR-free architecture”, and it calls the HI-eSCR aftertreatment system “regeneration-free”. How selective catalytic reduction works is set out in SCR and AdBlue explained.

FPT footnotes the last two rows: “Dimensions and weight can be changed according to engine options.” The abbreviations are FPT’s own: on its Cursor 11 page, DOC is a diesel oxidation catalyst, DPF a diesel particulate filter “w/ passive regeneration”, SCR selective catalytic reduction and CUC a clean-up catalyst.

Fuels: diesel and HVO

FPT’s datasheet lists the Cursor 11 under diesel only, and the brochure has no natural-gas version of it: the natural-gas engines in its Cursor series are the CURSOR 9 NG, the CURSOR 13 NG and the XCURSOR 13 NG.

On renewable diesel, FPT’s release of 30 June 2021 says: “The range of FPT Industrial engines for the new IVECO S-WAY complies with the Euro VI-E emissions standard and is 100% homologated for second generation biodiesel fuels such as HVO.” The same release names the Cursor 11 as one of those engines. Iveco Australia’s 2023 release, which lists the Cursor 9, Cursor 11 and Cursor 13 for the S-Way, says: “All engines are also fully compatible with second generation biofuels HVO/XTL (EN15940)”, with a footnote that reads “Synthetically produced paraffinic diesel fuel”. FPT’s 2026 brochure does not mention HVO. The fuel itself is covered in what HVO fuel is.

Ratings as FPT states them

The datasheet in FPT’s 2026 brochure gives three ratings, each with peak power at 1,900 rpm:

FPT Cursor 11 ratings in FPT’s on-road datasheet (product information as of 31 May 2026)

3384601,9002,150925
3534801,9002,300970

The brochure’s portfolio overview chart gives the same span, 420–480 hp, and marks the Cursor 11 with the emission standards “Euro VI / Euro V / Euro IV / GBVI”; the datasheet itself lists only Euro VI E ratings. Iveco gives its own figures for the S-Way in Australia: its 2023 release puts the 11.1-litre Cursor 11 at 460 hp from 1,500 to 1,900 rpm and 2,150 Nm of torque from 925 to 1,500 rpm, and says all the range’s engines meet “Euro6 (Step E)” emission requirements. FPT’s datasheet states power in kW and hp at a single engine speed, Iveco’s release in hp over a speed band; how the units and the speeds relate is set out in how to read a truck’s power figures, and the Euro VI steps in Euro 6 and Euro 7.

Generations and dates

None of the documents opened for this page gives the year the Cursor 11 was introduced. The dates they do give are:

  • 30 June 2021: FPT’s release on the new IVECO S-WAY says the S-WAY’s engine range complies with Euro VI-E and is homologated for HVO, and that the Cursor 11 and the Cursor 13 were given “higher compression ratios and a new fuel management strategy”.
  • 2023: Iveco Australia’s release on the S-Way’s arrival in Australia lists the Cursor 9, Cursor 11 and Cursor 13, all at Euro6 (Step E).
  • 30 September 2023: the product information date of FPT’s 2024 bus leaflet, whose Cursor bus engines are the C9, C9 NG, XC13 and XC13 NG; the Cursor 11 is not among them.
  • 31 May 2026: the product information date of FPT’s On-Road Engines & Drivelines brochure, which lists the Cursor 11 with the three Euro VI E truck ratings above.

Trucks and buses on this site with the FPT Cursor 11

One model on this site names the Cursor 11 in its engine record: BMC’s Tuğra, whose tractor carries it.

The figures are those of each model’s own page and the source it cites, for the Tuğra BMC’s own data sheets, not FPT’s engine-level figures; they are the same power and torque as the 338 kW (460 hp) rating in FPT’s datasheet. The IVECO S-WAY, which FPT’s 2021 release and Iveco Australia’s 2023 release name with the Cursor 11, is on this site as the Iveco S-Way, and the Iveco X-Way page cites Iveco UK releases of 2021 that describe X-WAYs with the 11.1-litre Cursor 11. The engine records of both models follow a later Iveco line-up that does not list the Cursor 11, so neither is in the table. No bus or coach on this site lists the Cursor 11 in its record.
