The Tuğra is the heavy truck range of the Turkish maker BMC. BMC’s own site, bmc.com.tr, routes its truck menu to bmctugra.com, which presents the Tuğra in three series: a road series of rigids (the TGR 1832 at 4x2, the TGR 2532 at 6x2 and the TGR 3232 at 8x2), a tractor (the TGR 1846, 4x2) and a construction series (the TGR 3540 at 6x4 and the TGR 4340 at 8x4). This page is built from the data sheets BMC links from those model pages, one per sub-variant, read on 16 October 2026: their PDFs were generated on 30 January 2025 and each carries BMC’s own revision note dated April 2024. The wheel-formula notation is set out in axle configurations explained.

Range and cab

The cab varies by model. The 1832 and 2532 sheets list a low-roof cab without a bed (BMC’s “Alçak Tavan, Yataksız Kabin”), with mechanical cab suspension as standard and four-point independent air cab suspension as an option. The 3232 sheets give a standard-roof one-berth sleeper cab on air suspension, and the 1846 sheets a high-roof two-berth sleeper cab, also on air suspension. BMC’s 2532 and 3232 model pages are both headed “Yataklı Kabin” (sleeper cab), but the 2532 data sheets themselves state “Yataksız Kabin” (cab without a bed). What the cab roof heights and berth counts mean is set out in truck cabs explained. A sibling model from the same maker, the city bus, has its own page: BMC Procity+ Electric. No BMC document opened for this page gives a production-start year for the Tuğra.

Engines

BMC fits three engine families across the range, each named on the sheets as a Euro 6 unit and each limited to 90 km/h.

Engines as the Tuğra data sheets state them.
EngineFitted toDisplacementPowerTorque
Cummins ISB6.7road rigids (1832, 2532, 3232)6.7 L, 6-cyl320 PS (233 or 239 kW) at 2,300 rpm1,200 Nm at 1,100 rpm
Cummins L9construction (3540, 4340)8.9 L, 6-cyl400 PS (298 kW) at 2,100 rpm1,700 Nm at 1,400 rpm
FPT Cursor 11 ENT VItractor (1846)11.1 L, 6-cyl460 PS (338 kW) at 1,900 rpm2,150 Nm

The road rigids run a Cummins ISB6.7, a 6.7-litre six-cylinder turbo-intercooler diesel with a bore and stroke of 107 mm and 124 mm, at 320 PS and 1,200 Nm at 1,100 rpm. BMC’s sheets give the same 320 PS rating two ways: as 233 kW on the 1832 sheets and as 239 kW on the 2532 and 3232 sheets. The construction trucks run a Cummins L9 of 8.9 litres and six cylinders at 400 PS (298 kW) at 2,100 rpm and 1,700 Nm at 1,400 rpm; the engine is named “Cummins ISL9E6E” on the 3540 DXD sheet and “Cummins L9E6E” on the 3540 TXT and 4340 DXD sheets. The TGR 1846 tractor runs an FPT Cursor 11 ENT VI, an 11.1-litre six-cylinder turbo-intercooler diesel with a bore and stroke of 125 mm and 140 mm, at 460 PS (338 kW) at 1,900 rpm and 2,150 Nm; the ELG sheets place the torque peak at 925 rpm and the ESS sheets at 1,050 to 1,550 rpm. How a power rating relates to its rated speed is set out in reading truck power figures.

Transmission

The road rigids use a ZF manual gearbox: the 1832 sheet gives a ZF 9 S with nine forward gears and one reverse, ratios of 12.73:1 and 1.00:1 (reverse 12.04:1) and a single-disc clutch of 430 mm (17 inches), and the 3232 sheets give a ZF 9 S 1310 TD. The construction and tractor models use the ZF 12 TX automated gearbox with twelve forward gears and two reverse, optional with an Intarder: the construction sheets give a ZF 12 TX 1815 TO as standard and a ZF 12 TX 1811 TO (with Intarder) as an option, and the 1846 sheets give a ZF 12 TX 2210 TO with a ZF 12 TX 2211 TO option. The 1846 sheets label the same 2210 TO gearbox two ways, “Otomatik” (automatic) on the ELG sheet and “Robotize” (automated) on the ESS sheet; the 1846 ratios run from 12.9 to 0.7 (reverse 13.10:1 and 10.12:1). How these automated gearboxes work is set out in automated manual transmissions.

Axles, suspension and brakes

The road rigids and the 1846 tractor carry a single-speed driven rear axle rated 13,000 kg; the front steer axle is rated 7,500 kg on the 4x2 and 6x2 rigids and the 1846, and 7,000 kg on the 8x2, which also carries a self-steering axle rated 7,100 kg. The 1832 sheet gives the rear axle ratio as 4.63:1 and the 1846 sheet as 3.08:1. The construction 6x4 (3540) carries a front axle rated 8,000 kg and a driven rear tandem rated 13,400 kg per axle at a 5.41:1 ratio; the 8x4 (4340) carries two front axles rated 9,000 kg each and a rear tandem rated 16,000 kg per axle. The 1832 sheet describes the front suspension as semi-elliptic leaf springs with telescopic dampers and the rear as auxiliary-reinforced semi-elliptic leaf springs with telescopic dampers, with an anti-roll bar on both axles.

For braking, the sheets give a dual-circuit full-air system. The 1832, 2532 and 1846 sheets list it with EBS, ESC, LDWS and AEBS; the 3232 and the construction sheets list ABS and ASR instead. The 1832 S and the construction trucks have 410 × 200 mm Z-cam drum brakes, while the 3232 and the 1846 have 430 × 45 mm disc brakes. Auxiliary braking is an engine brake: a plain engine brake on the road rigids, rated at 252 kW on the construction trucks and 372 kW on the 1846, with a 600 kW Intarder as an option on the construction and tractor models. How these systems work is set out in retarders and engine braking explained.

Dimensions and weights

BMC publishes dimensions and weights on each variant’s own sheet. The figures below are overall length and height excluding mirrors, the wheelbase, and the kerb weight, which every sheet states without a driver and with 20 L of fuel, 5 L of AdBlue and minimum equipment. Widths are 2,545 mm on the road and tractor sheets and 2,550 mm on the construction sheets. Heights on the 3540 and 4340 are quoted on 315/80 R22.5 tyres, and the “with spoiler” heights are the sheets’ second figure for a cab with a roof spoiler.
